|
|
i know a lot of golden ticket-ers didn't make all the concerts, and i know the evening standard was trying to get a photo of everyone who had done all 21 before the shepherd's bush gig. i've been trying to count who made it to all of them, and i think i have a list of about 16. i'm guessing about 25 people max?
as far as i can work out:
don
mya
steve
yvonne
kirsten
ricky
cliff
john d
patrick
tony
marcela
michael
me
mikey
julie
anyone else want to add themselves to the list? _________________ medic! medic! medic! medic!

The swedes were called Pia and Gabriella :)
Pia is on the forum I think, she may be called Sparks Forever or something, but her english is very bad so I don't think she's written much. _________________ Not so suave.

Good on ya you guys. Of course there are many other fans who would have joined your big adventure given half a chance.
I know you can't put a price on seeing your favourite band play all their albums but unless you live within commuting distance or doss down in shop doorways, it's gotta cost a lot of dosh. How did you manage it?
I reckon filming you lot would have made a great reality tv series. Even better you should club together and write a book about your experiences. You could call it something like Tearing the Place Apart or The Greatest Show on Earth! _________________ Sparks do it in the dark! |

In my case, the incredible good fortune of living a couple of miles away from Islington. |

I'm not thinking of how much it cost, that's what credit cards are for... |

I just thank my lucky stars that I have an understanding boss who gave me an extra week of vacation time for this extravaganza! Dr. Sugiki, you rock! However, I won't be able to make any other travels for about 5 years until I pay it all off! Oh well, totally worth it IMO. |

I did them all.
I'm Robert and have the great good fortune of working in Islington as an animator. I didn't get the golden ticket as I started buying the physical tickets from the Box Office from the first day they went on sale last year.
It's really flown by and it seems so recent and yet so long ago that Russell said "Song number One"....
Great to meet so many great Sparks fans as well.
Happy Memories are already forming.
Special hello to you Alison and to Charlie Bucket and to my namesake from Brighton. _________________ We've got Michelangelo

i was wondering if anyone did it one ticket at a time.. well done!
someone mentioned that we should've started filming a documentary from day 1. i wish i'd thought of that at the time. we could always reenact it though..

me!
themightybishop aka alan from hemel hempstead. 27.8 miles from islington.
i'd like to thank the vicar at school who allowed me to postpone a governors' meeting, my wife for encouraging me to go to pulling rabbits as the enthusiasm was wearing off and the various friends and family who joined me at half of the shows.
i had an idea that i didn't follow through. it was to invite a different friend to each show and get each one to write their own review. i think it had the makings of a half-decent book. then i realised, i probably don't have 21 friends! |

I did them all as well!
I live in Hertford and work 9 to 5 so train transport was fairly straightforward. The only problem was that pesky cold which seemed to make a comeback on the last night, hence my inability to cheer! Still, it would have taken a lot more than that to make me miss any of the shows. |
