Madonna-she is the only one that i could liken to Sparks, always thinking forward and sounding fresh. It would be nice to have someone younger though possibly Skin-great voice. |

I think there needs to be a Sparks and David Bowie option _________________ B. E. A.

The "with DB" option would only draw even more Queen comparisons(a la Under Pressure)...a duet with an opera Diva...would have the same effect(Barcelona)...and any operatic tenor would draw forth vague U2 similarities(Didn't Elton John do something similar??).Any duet would have to be a carefully thought out option....so we just couldn't have a Sparks /50 cent collaboration on the spur of the moment...
...or could we???? |

PS....just posted on a thread called "Russell's Voice"...regarding a duet with some long past artist...(I used Edith Piaf...as an example)saying that with today's technology, surely a brand new song could be manufactured using randomly sampled words by the artist(of choice)...carefully arranged to make sense and integrity lyrically and musically.
Mark my words I'll bet that someone somewhere is trying it!! |

I voted Kate Bush....shes original, has a high voice compatible with Russell, writes her own songs, and has the X factor....a great duo to be sure. _________________ And since you put a gun to my head I promise I will Rock Rock Rock! |

This week i came across this odd couple (just organ + drum + vocals) that have a sound just right for Sparks, off-the-beaten-track popsongs. They are presently on tour in UK than back to the States. It sounds quite innocent kinda sixties but different to April March.

I went ahead and voted for Lene Lovich.
I'm actually more of a Kate Bush fan, but who I think really should duet with Russell and is not on the list is Bjork. I mean, DUH. |

I'd like Russell to sing Equator with Bjork!
If you like something more falsetto, why not try Russ with Diamanda Galas?
I was amused by the mysterious Guest's suggestion of Ron doing a duet with the grinning Bobby Crush. _________________ Gonna hang myself from my family tree. |

Brilliant.
Or... something like "No.1 Song in Heaven" or "Change" with Alison Moyet. _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |

maelstrom,Billy Mackenzie was a great shout,i have loads of his stuff, what a brilliant singer,it really upset me his tragic ending as surely someone could have helped him, anyway he left us with some great music and he also loved sparks,i think he was at the kentish town forum gig in 1994,i was there to,i wish i could have met the great man. _________________ WRITTEN OF COURSE BY THE MIGHTIEST HAND |

Billy MacKenzie's version of "Mother Earth" is absolutely beautiful.
I won't bore everyone by repeating my Billy MacKenzie story(for the umpteenth time...lol) |
