I don't know if it's just happening at my end of the internet, but i don't think i'm in some backalley here in Amsterdam with my ADSL conection. The last couple of days it's getting slower and slower to log-in and add or view posts. Other websites i visit don't seem to give and speedproblems so i wonder if anybody else noticed this or experienced the same thing?

Yes Eddy... Do you think it may be due to users suddenly including animated gifs and things to their posts??

I have no idea. Maybe the database(?) of all posts is getting to much 'framented' or something. I'm trying to find out if it is not my internetprofider or my modem but that's not easy. They always tend to blame your computer (or at least the software on it). But i know a thing or two about pc's / network / servers.

There was a bit of a disaster the other week when everything went peculiar.

Even an upsurge in paga data shouldn`t slow you logging in though, I noticed it did choke a couple of times today when I tried....maybe it`s a sign of worse to come

(It was the database last time IIRC)

So what did 'they' do to resolve that problem (with the database)?

This Forum is getting a bit weird.

If i've just logged in and post something i get asked to log in again. Then when i try to post another thing a few minutes later ik keeps saying i can't add another post that fast after another ... for about a minute or so. Sometimes, like right now when i try to add a first post it says that aswell but i haven't posted anything in like 30 minutes!! Or do previews also count as some sort of post???

Soemting wrong with the clock i think aswell!! my problem and Alex's post might be related to this i think.

I think the clock on the server/database has been set back like 20 minutes or so. I found post i had put up earlier with a timestamp in the near future???? strange!
PS
I've tried loggin off and in aswell like 12 times but with no succes. But things seem to be better now!?

I'm also having problems; I'm being told I can't post so soon after my previous post when there hasn't been a previous post!!

This posting thing can be a bummer - especially when you've spent ages typing it, submit it and get invited to log in. Again.
A tip from an American poster...
When you get re-invited to log in, hit the back button, highlight your text, copy it. Then, log in again & simply paste into the message pane. It works.

easier still > after been asked to log in again hit the back button (twice?)and than submit. Worked fine for me.

I have had to do this for ages now. It just makes sense to hit the back button and cut and paste. It is not rocket science but it is bloody annoying to have to keep doing it.

Excuse me, Cali, but for some of us it might as well be bloody rocket science!! Bring back carrier pigeons, I say.
That's what all this so-called "bird-flu" scare is all about: it's a global conspiracy by big corporations to make us all slaves to their technologies.
Bird flu indeed! I mean, remember SARS, anyone?

Sorry GfG. Sometimes I do forget that other folk may not use a computer as much as I do so what seems like second nature to me might not to others.

It is still bloody annoying though. I have been logged out 3 times now in the space of half an hour. I will just have to use the scissors and glue until it is resolved.

To be perfectly honest...after I had typed in my complaint on here(and it got posted without any trouble....I didn't have any further problems.

SARS...I almost caught that just after I almost caught the Ebolla virus which was set to decimate the planet...I think it was because my resistance was at a low ebb through worrying about the giant meteorite which might possibly hit the earth, but not before the super volcano which theoretically is set to erupt anytime soon...within the next 5,000years...but I was heartened to find that all our (and the industrial age's) excesses aren't to blame for global warming...there is a chance that was caused by dinosaurs' flatulence(if not Dinosaurs...it might be all the sheep and cattle to blame)....mind you there is still global dimming....or is that next year's scaremongering???

On the subject of global dimming, has anyone seen Patrick Moore recently, and the fact that his top set are about to drop out at any moment....

I was on the edge of my seat.

Anyone else experience a slow forum? Since last night (CET) it's darn slow, today it seems a little bit faster.
