exactly 10 years before FFS played at the Gloria
a smaller venue … great concert…
the temperatures were as hot as they will be
on tuesday
2017 with the Hippo Tour
and now the show is upgraded to a bigger place

I was there with my friend Sylvia. I was pretty much a puddle of sweat by the end! Russ introduced the group as sweaty nos 1-4 and said next time they want somewhere with air con. I don’t know how he does it, running around for over 90 minutes in that temperature. Sylvia thinks Ron looked a little frail, well he is almost 80.

yes it was just a miracle, to see the energy of
Ron and Russell … despite this heat
plus it was very nice to meet waterloosunset…

I guess the heat also caused the the Problem
Ron had for a short while with his Synth…
Russell: what the hell is wrong with your
country… this heat…
well, it is not only your country…

but thanks to incatation gestures of
Ron and a technican the Keyboard
was fixed soon😂

First of all, so lovely to meet our Henry McHenry (not the comedian guy). He got me a much needed glass of water, which I drank in small sips so I wouldn’t run out.

This was tied for the hottest venue I’ve ever been in (UB40 in 1983 in Boston was just as bad). The venue seemed to be an old warehouse with little to no ventilation but with fans on the stage - not much help if it’s blowing hot air at you. Russell managed to do the whole show in his suit jacket and then his vest without grousing at all. Except for the tech issues already mentioned, the show was great. Russell’s vocal cords liked the heat, so the high vocals sounded strong and pure.

Curious to see if they change up the set list in the Americas in September. One more show for me in Berlin.

They dropped one song, don't know if it was because of the heat.
