Broken Social Scene - Self Titled Full Length Album

Hey FlorMica, long time no see. I couldn't find that title but listened to other stuff...very sweeping.

Local H is releasing a 20th anniversary remastered edition of 'Whatever Happened To P.J. Soles?'. I'm not sure if it is their best album but it's pretty strong start to finish.

A couple tracks are already out on streaming services and the whole album will be dropped just ahead of their tour which starts September 15th in Cleveland. I'm pretty stoked about this.

For those that don't know, Local H is a two piece band notorious for drunken buffoonery as highlighted in their song, "The Kids Are Right". They tell you in detail and in verse, "You Won't Wear Our T-Shirt Anymore". They have also been known to play none of their own material and at times have played an evening of Cheap Trick songs.

I'm prepping for the live date by listening to ''Whatever Happened To P.J. Soles?'

I'm in fan mode so I'll go 8/10

The Barber of Seville (overture) by Rossini

I prefer Rossini to Beethoven, probably down to Clayton Moore ( if you know, you know )

That is an interesting coincidence. I'm listening to the classical music station in Boston, MA, USA, and they finished playing the overture to the Barber of Seville less than an hour ago.

I am transported back to being a young child watching the credits at the end of HELP! whenever I hear it. I don't remember the Bugs Bunny version.

70s Glam Rock on Alexa…a decent mix but excessive with Elton John and Queen…

I don't have an Alexa (l'm a dinosaur) but l visited a friend last week who had just got himself hooked up and was very excited. As a favour to me he asked "Alexa play me a Sparks song" and we were treated to "Music that you can dance to"........ interesting first choice l thought, l wonder what the reasoning is??
And do they vary the choice? ...... 😂

Yes they do vary in the songs played but I don’t know how the choice is made, maybe very random.
I asked for a Sparks song just now to test it… it took a few goes but eventually Unaware was played, not at all the song I expected.
