"Rosebud" is meant to be serious?!
Oh come on......!!! It's a fabulously kitsch Gene Pitney pastiche, and one of my Sparks favourites, but who can listen to it without grinning like a maniac. It's really funny! _________________ You see a peanut, and the day's off to a good start. You witness some soil, and it's a jamboree..... |

Really so?? Oh dear, I've always thought Rosebud is tragic, even frightening. Too serious in fact.
I voted for With All My Might... not for the seriousness but more for its romantic sweetness... :)) When I hear those verses "The noise of my heartbeat/May cover the words I say" I start melting... *sighs* |

Aren't nearly all Sparks' songs wonderfully, sometimes desperately, serious, whatever the level of witticism, humour and irony in the mix? |

Fletcher Honorama! A song about someone's death, and celebrating the 80 June's he'd seen! |

Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth definitely - the standout song for me on my first ever Sparks gig in February. Gave me the shivers!! _________________ http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=678905447 |
