Why stay overnight? Why not just get another Private Taxi home after the gig? You would be using one the next day anyway. _________________ Don't let it get me! |

Not if it is booked from that side originally, Miss Sparks said Private Taxi not Black Cab. If they did up the price still cheaper than a Hotel. Good point though Alex _________________ Don't let it get me! |

Great record. Not normally a Sparks fan although I completely understand why people have liked them for so long but Hippo is pretty fantastic. I wish I had been a little more proactive and caught them on this tour, they look absolutely brilliant, great energy that you just don't see that often lately. I can't get the album out of my head, it has a certain sound about it that's infectious. One of the best of the year for sure. If they do record the show, count me in for a copy.
regards Topazy. |

Glad I decided to get my Leeds tickets back in February... while scrolling down to consider buying them I saw that a gig a couple of days before it (think it might have been The Streets or similar shite) so the credit card came straight out! _________________ Horatio ~ the future Mr. Mael ~ Peace, love and

I have booked private taxi to and from the venue. Ticket in hand, can't wait to see my favourite band again. |

Per Davie Miller on Twitter, Finiflex will be opening for the boys in Glasgow.
Still have no idea who'll be opening in Leeds and London... could be anybody! _________________ Horatio ~ the future Mr. Mael ~ Peace, love and

I wish Finiflex would come with Sparks to the London gig at the Forum. They've made some really great records especially the Finitribe recordings and let's not forget they produced the delightful 'National Crime Awareness Week' back in '93. Maybe we would get a special performance!
Shame it was a one off single as an album would have been brilliant I'm sure. _________________ The fan formally known as kermit

Ah Finiflex is an offshoot from Finitribe... I'd lost track of these fine guys, which is shameful being so local. Certainly, they did a lot to ignite Sparks' 90s comeback in Europe, even if it took a few months for the return to the charts with the Gratuitous Sax material.
In Glasgow, they deserve to go down a storm and likely will.
Meantime, get in the mood -

Out of curiosity, is Finiflex the same people as Finitribe, or a variant lineup? |

Historically, Finitribe was the band, (established initially a post punk group). Finflex was its label, operating from Edinburgh's sea port of Leith. Like Sparks, Finitribe experimented and evolved into electronic music. It had a line up of 5 or 6, varying at times between permanent members and guest artists, until petering out late 90s. Finiflex continued to produce records and had a niche in soundtracks for commercials - including those furnishers of Scandinavian design, Ikea. Longtime collaborators in Finitribe as well as Finiflex studios, John Vink and David Miller, have recently formed a band. This new outfit is called Finiflex, the same as the record label.

Support act for Leeds and London is one "Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer", a dapper, moustachioed ukelele player.
