Enjoyed both gigs at Shepherd's Bush. Nice surprise that the set list had some changes on the 2nd night. Some bands tend to play the same songs if playing more than one gig at the same venue, but not Sparks. Backing band was superb. Looking forward to my next gig. Ron Playing

Loved the bow to Ron at the end!!!

Agree the backing band is great now, a lot better than FFS, which they weren't quite at the start.

Brilliant overview of the shows, Ally. Really enjoyed reading it. Well done MiniPop

Fantastic review of the current state of things, Ally!

I'm curious about the Hippo track debuted at Bristol - anyone wish to divulge? I understand Nicotina was performed in London.

It was Life With The Macbeths and it was stunning. Great addition to the set.

Thanks, Lily, a pleasant surprise indeed. There's always something special about the last track on the albums and I bet it was superb.

Thanks for the review, Ally, as well-written and insightful as always. Great to catch up with yourself and the others at the gigs, too. I thought the band were on top form throughout, with the sound beefed up by extra guitars and keyboards. Nice choices of songs, too, with a few surprises I didn't expect to hear at the second Shepherds Bush concert. Can't wait until the next time!

Went to the first US gig on Tuesday in Brooklyn, my first live Sparks show, really enjoyed it! They seemed to be really enjoying themselves and the crowd loved it.

Any Brooklynites here that attended?

At one point Russell was thanking the audience for the great reception, seemed very genuinely touched, and mentioned something I couldn't fully hear about some previous show where maybe things didn't go so well - does anyone know what he was talking about? Not sure if he meant on this tour or a previous US tour or something else, or if I misheard completely...

Just seen an announcement on Sparks' facebook feed about November 24th in a venue in the West Midlands... Surely not! As far as I can see it's a club in Wednesbury (MJs) listed on the 'bandsintown' website. Would it be that the club's hosting a DJ with a similar name and there's been a mix-up?

What a great clip! Not only is Rebecca fabulous, but note also how the band seriously elevates what is already a great song on record ...

Well said! I'm so in awe, rendered speechless. Rebecca is amazing beyond words. Wish I'd experienced this very special show stopping duet. Awesome!

Yes, they just said on Facebook that the Tokyo shows mark the end of the tour.

I wonder if Sparks will do a 2nd night at the 02 Forum London, as there is no one booked for the 25th May.
