Awesome idea, guys, but I'll bet they are so busy working on their latest stuff that they won't have time for us. No, wait-I take that back-if they can send messages to all at the conventions, I'm sure they can keep those of us anxiously awaiting any news on album progress a little something to keep us happy. |

It's a good idea, and I voted 'yes', but I can't see it happening. One might argue that there already is a 'band section': it's called 'News', and we all know how under-attended that has become.
Some bands have regular, ongoing dialogue with their fans via on their websites - even to the point of having webcams in the studio! - but I guess that isn't R&R's style. I can recall only one occasion that R&R had an open communication hour or so with the fans, via this or the old website.
Like it or not, we support a band that is fairly aloof; arguably it is that aloofness, and the mystique generated partly by it, that contributes something to their enduring appeal among us committed types.
But a web diary would be excellent if they could be interested in keeping one up, and I'm sure it would prevent the lull in interest between albums.
Ain't gonna happen, mind ... |

I do appreciate that the band must have busy lives, but hey - so do the rest of us!! I log on to this site most days, but at the same time I'm taking care of lots of other computery stuff, and don't spend much time here. Surely one or other of the band members ( and there are 4 of them ) could log on for a few minutes a day to give us some news and the occasional update. C'mon guys, do you know the lengths some of us went to to get your albums in the 80s?! _________________ You see a peanut, and the day's off to a good start. Right. There ain't much to read here, just "Russell is so delicious", "Lil' Beethoven's a great album" "Who's better, Ron or Russell", etc.
It's funny, I saw a Prodigy forum recently, and an avid internet hater Liam Howlett was leaving messages about his commings and goings and likes and dos (he's that guy who writes Prodigy's music). |

Indeed, even input from the studio tea-lady would be welcome at the moment ; I know she'd probably tell us that Russell is even more gorgeous in the flesh, though she prefers Ron who is a perfect gent and that Lil B. is really a great album, but at least it would be something like first-hand news..... _________________ You see a peanut, and the day's off to a good start. Definetely :))) I hate these moments, when I can't even think of something new and interesting to learn. I've cheated people who like(d) my band(s first incarnation) by telling them about my false "to-do"s, but still it made things move, kept them interested. Gotta take care of people to make them care about you, don't you? |

I think it is a good idea...but if it does ever become a reality and should it be under-visited/subscribed for ANY reason whatsoever,it will be the source of countless "I told you this would happen" posts from those with negative views(and there are some who revel in such dubious delights).
I agree that many posters here have busy workschedules ,but manage to make time for a visit to the boards....I myself manage this by totally ignoring my family and never having to go to the toilet since the purchase of my "PILOTS' PAL"(available at all dodgy specialist shops)..."too much information?".lol
That said.. if there was a forum where ONLY the band could post on(even sporadically)...we would be sure it WAS a band member(OK or a duly deputised substitute..you cynics)...and not just a poster with delusions of grandeur pretending to be a band member. |

That very true GFG. In fact I am not going to be around much during the next few days as my amateur theatre company is presenting the play "And Then There Was None" until Saturday. In fact, tonight was our premier night and I am absolutely knackered so won't hang around for long. Don't forget me people and keep me informed of any news!!
PS - I am not advertising our play really LOL! _________________ Carol wears Cacheral..... |

Ah well, quite right, we don't. Though I think everyone would clearly like to believe it and be pleased at the idea that R&R do walk among us, as it were.
But that's not really the same thing as is being suggested in this thread, Mr Demotime. |
