I just say Sparks because that is their name Sparks but its kinda funny when my sister is around because she always thinks im talking about her when I say Sparks because her name is Sparkle (real name) and since we were babies I have always called her sparks lol so its funny when she thinks im talking about her when im talking about them. I still only call them Sparks. Don't even say The when my sister is around to make it easier for her to indiffer her name from their name. lol plus its just funny when she gets confused when im speaking of them or could I have been speaking of her? LOL |

Interesting poll.
I've always called them Sparks, but I also belong to a classic rock forum that spans many genres and decades. I've written a few album reviews there, and just to cut down on redundancy I've also used "the bros Mael", just plain "Ron and Russell" (after the surname has been noted elsewhere) or when introducing a new photo project "the two most beautiful men on the planet" (but that's a little too much). _________________ Last.fm.

I hate it when people call them "The Sparks", especially when I see it in print. It doesn't say "The Sparks" on any of the album covers, so why add the definite article? People don't say "The ABBA", "The Keane", "The UB40", "The Blur" or "The Oasis"!
Whenever I see a new music encyclopaedia or reference book, I always check the Sparks entry. If it contains any incorrect information about Sparks, them I'm certainly not going to buy it, as I wouldn't trust any of the other information in it. _________________ Gonna hang myself from my family tree. |

LOL...you sound as bad as me...but you do have to make allowances for translations into English.
PS...What about Sweet/The Sweet?...I suppose that doesn't count as they were The Sweet on early albums...
...answered my own question really |

your right alex,in some countries like germany they have to put `the` before sparks as it is there translation differences,it does sound funny to english people to hear them called `the sparks` though i must admit.
