Hope it is alright for a newbie to start a thread - but wow what a night. The accoustics were great and having a front row circle the whole show -although a little distant -was fantastic. Russell was pitch perfect and Ron's crowd "surf" was great fun. Great news too that there is going to be a live cd. can't wait! |

The sound quality really lifted the show, which was another top night. Not often we see Ron get so carried away with it all! _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

And even from the back row of the balcony, the sound was fab. Continue to be amazed at Russell's vocal skills! |

Agree with the comment about Russell's vocals. Totally made the night for me and elevated it above the Edinburgh show because of the superb acoustics. |

Can I just say, I missed my local gig last night due to work, when I finished I made a point of telling the regulars how I should have been at the Barbican, but had been to Frankfurt and Manchester and was also going to Dublin to make up for it. One asked me, do you really still feel a buzz when they come on stage? I couldn't explain the buzz I get as someone who bought Kimono in 1974 and 38 years on, is still seeing his heroes sing live and sounding as good as they did when I saw them live at Hammersmith in 1975.

Hello, good morning, Martin! Exactly. Sat next to a fellow fan of the Stranglers, another timeless band, and had a chat about Sparks and why we like them- basically unique, current, retro, influential and bottom line - class! _________________ To not learn from history is to forever remain a child |

Arrived back from London this evening!
Fantastic show! The acoustics in the Barbican are absolutely amazing and really suited the band. Russell's voice is beyond incredible and Ron's keyboards were flawless throughout. Had such a brilliant time!
I was thrilled when Russell confirmed the live album; I wonder whether this record will be of one show or a compilation of performances from various shows along the tour?
Overall: sublime! Can't wait to see them again some day! |

as Russsell (and Ron) always had the same clothing my guess is they will use the best bits from different shows |

Retroman - really enjoyed your review.
A man behind me claimed to be from Record Collector so expect a review some time soon. |
