It can`t be just me experiencing these massive delays with this forum, pages taking forever to load, sometimes freezing completely etc.....
also regular database errors now.

Sometimes it all goes OK for a while, but it`s not long before it starts again.

I can`t believe no-one else has mentioned it yet !

I have noticed that sometimes it is a tad slow getting on to subjects or posting replies..etc....but I thought it was just me.....I can't say I've had trouble with the system freezing or data base errors(I'm still not sure what they are)

It's currently a nightmare. I suspect though, that it may be less to do with Site Admin, and more to do with the Fat Cow server hosting too many sites without sufficient bandwith.
I'll subit this now, go on a week's vacation and return to see the blue bar measuring half a millimetre.......

The progress bar in the browser to tell you how far the page has loaded, I don`t even get that far sometimes...

This page took just over 4 minutes to open....so it`s not just me then, thank goodness.

Yes, I suspect it`s the server too, as sometimes it`s OK.

"Media Temple provides the high capacity servers for Allsparks.com"

on closer inspection of the site, there seems to be no mention of system status notices or anything, and even the knowlegdebase seems to be corrupt !

http://www.mediatemple.net/support/kb/

If you look at any of those knowledgebase articles, it just appears as gibberish to me, what language could it be in other than English ?

It`s based in LA for heavens sake, maybe that`s how you type "Valley Girl-ese" :-)

This is really beyond a joke, if they are having problems at the server end, they should contact their customers and tell them...then we could be informed in turn by the webmasters here if there`s downtime or if they are getting nuked or whatever.....

There seems to be no way of contacting them either unless you telephone or are already a customer..... !

No generic contact e-mail address ? I find that unusual.

I just did a tracert to allsparks.com..... 14 hops all OK.
It's just the forum area that is dying...
@ E/Fad.... I thought FatCow were the hosts??? They were earlier this year, but of course, that may have changed....

I never knew who was hosting this, but on the main page of the site, lower left there`s a small info link...it says about it just there amongst other things

I`m getting complete timeouts tracing here ?!

NO, Loz, you are correct, it is networksolutions & FatCow...

I've also submitted 3 PMs over the last 2-3 days, and they ALL timed out.
(My timeout is set very high).....
I shall try again when I feel less inclined to throw a brick at my monitor.

That phpBB error is apparently when the database is reset or closed while you are "in" it.....IIRC

I have had those kinds of errors and many others over the past few days.

It seems OK at this very moment, but I`m willing to bet it won`t last.

Either people are very patient or just don`t care ! LOL

Hopefully, but I`m not holding my breath.....

I think somethings been done to the forum, everytime I go to press the submit button, the whole page jumps, so to align the page to the centre of the screen so I have to press the button again....if you see what I mean.

I wonder if the cookie problem has been sorted at the same time ? :-)

I`d still like to know what actually went wrong though, I wonder if we`ll ever get to know ?
