back in 1981 I was listening to the public radio

and they played
"Rock nīRoll People In A Disco World"

Some unexpected Sparks exposure was laid out on my co-workers last Friday.

We have a morning meeting that includes all employees from all departments. The ringleader of this meeting always starts with music while people are filing into the room.

Thirty minutes before the meeting he asked if I had any musical suggestions so I suggested he play, Do Things My Own Way by Sparks.

Rarely have I seen such interest in what was playing on the big screen. Borderline hilarious that I felt a bit nervous as I looked around the room to see the reactions of midwestern working folk. Dare I say, based on a couple conversations after the song there might be some new fans.

For me, the two most unexpected Sparks moments were Gilmore Girls and the Apple TV ad a few years ago.

I'm with you on Gilmore Girls. I happened to walk into the room as Mrs. Buckeye was watching Gilmore Girls and Sparks were on the screen.

Sadly l rarely come across Sparks in an unexpected way....they are woefully ignored in most cases.......however there is a TV channel here which l stumbled across quite by accident, it's called Bubblegum and Cheese and plays what they describe as 'feel good music'.....they regularly play 2 Sparks songs...Beat the Clock (the video) and a wonderful live version of This Town....the latter is a joy to watch!
Like most of these stations it's on a repeat loop.,so l tune in every now again just to recharge my Sparks battery....
