Sorry to hear of his passing.
Listening to Monte's interview with Hilly Michaels at the weekend and it was clear what a genuinely nice man he was and still friends with R and R 50 years on |

That is sad news indeed. A big part of their band for many years as guitarest which was something that clearly meant a lot to him as such an admirer of their music. RIP.

Extremely nice man - and we were planning a follow on to focus on Big Beat track-by-track - with Sal.
I happened to be the one to tell Hilly about Sal's passing and he took it pretty hard. A really good guy who cherished the work he did with Sal Maida to a very great extent.
