Denis Law, footballing legend played for many teams from Huddersfield to Man Utd(where he formed a lifelong friendship with George Best) and played for the Scottish national team.

Both him and George Best came into a pub I used to frequent, he had a soft drink and stayed in the shadow of his rather more outgoing buddy and was content to ensure George’s well-being…the sign of a true friend!
A gentleman indeed!

Joey Molland, last surviving member of Badfinger
Departed March 1, 2025 (age 77 years)

Back in 2019, I saw Joey Molland, Todd Rundgren, Mickey Dolenz, Christopher Cross and Jason Scheff (Chicago) on stage together performing The Beatles White Album. Each artist performed a couple of their own songs as well.
