I was talking to my brother today about gig tickets on smartphones. I didn't know this as i haven't been to a gig since 2018 when it was still printing gig tickets from email.

I'm with Peter on this one. I haven't a smartphone either. Fortunately my wife has, and she's coming along (we're going to the first London gig). But there really should be other options available at the checkout without having to go to the bother of contacting the ticket agency.

I remember back when the stonemason carved your ticket on freshly quarried sandstone (or granite if you opted for VIP)…then some wise guy started issuing tickets on papyrus, it’s all been a downward spiral since then!

my last concert was future islands in manchester around 2016 and things have changed so much.there didnt seem to be an option to print tickets, only a scan option that i found out after i bought the ticket.i think i will be ok but its not great travelling over 2 hours with no physical ticket and just a reception desk to go to when i get there!
