I'm so happy and frustrated at the same time right now!
I'm seeing all those very good news since this morning, but I'm too busy at work to take the time to listen to their new single!!! I'll have to wait for my lunch break :(

Sounds good, I like it. I hope it isn't the best song.

I understand why bands release several tracks before the release of the album but that doesn't mean I have to like it. There is something magical when you listen to an album for the first time not knowing half the songs.

Looking forward to album release and more tour dates.

I like it too but l agree, l like the joy (and sometimes disappointment!) of hearing an album in its entirety for the first time...... I do like this single though but l might pretend l haven't heard it until l get my hands on the album in the summer!!
The summer! We don't usually have a summer in the north of Ireland but this will be a big ray of sunshine....

I liked it a lot. It's amazing how R & R keep creating new, catchy tunes and matching them with their trademark witty lyrics. I'll look forward to the song being played live!

Sparks have always done stuff that is unpredictable and innovative and they have an aversion to doing what's expected..... So, what is expected once again is something unpredictable and innovative and true to their wonderfully bolshie nature they've done something fairly "straightforward"...... I'm beginning to love it and l love the fact that they appear to be getting more disgruntled with age (yay..... me too!)
But l think the album could well be magnificent....

(it could just be that l need to fill my mind with obtuse theories as the summer is a loooooong time away)

Especially Limmy ;-)

I respect them a lot for going their own way with material like this. It's what back in the 90s I said they should do more often!

The other side of the coin is, I think many people heard the track "The Girl is Crying in her Latte", and thought, that's not for me, and so a brilliant track like "Not that well defined" never got heard and I think in different hands that could have been a number one.

If the unreleased album which was set up as a follow up to Balls before a change of direction was put out . I could sort of imagine something sounding like this could of been off it.

great track ...
a dense electronic sound background combined with
those guitars, the vocals are more withdrawn, less melodic
and less high key ... but in a great way ...

NME Article...

The whole MAD! & angry face logo, to me, is obviously Sparks giving their feelings towards the new Trump government. In the past they've made their position quite clear as to who they consider a mad man. l totally agree with that statement completely by the way.
The timing of this single release, as well as showing the upcoming new album artwork two weeks after Trump became president, hasn't gone unnoticed. I'm sure they're not the only ones who must be devastated with the election results & must be concerned with the direction the USA is now heading in. Even just after 2 weeks Trump has managed to show more of his true racist & phobic self while dividing & blaming the population with his hate & lies.
As for the single it's an interesting album prerelease. I think with a few more plays it'll be a grower. Blending familiar synths, classic rock guitar & the standard repetition of lyrics, should please many Sparks fans.

It would have been written and recorded well before the election. They're not going to go all political now especially when most of the states they play in voted Republican

I am a big fan of the new song ! Love the production and the energy. It reminds me of something from Balls. It's amazing to think how little Russel's voice has changed since then!

A few people have criticised the song and how simple it is but I enjoy that about it. Feels a bit punk, feels urgent. I was hooked straight away with this. While it took me a few listens with TGICITL.

I'm very excited for the tour and for what the rest of the album will bring.

Again, what a joy to have yet another Sparks album and tour to look forward too!

I love it, it's a nice combination of guitars and electronic sounds. However I hope the future album will have lots of different styles so it doesn't all sound the same.
